This model is the latest in the long-running line of robots by Neato. It has a distinctive "D shape when viewed above. This design comes with a variety of advantages such as improved corner cleaning and a larger dust bin than other models. The D-shape also enables the robot to get under furniture better than robots with a circular design.

It isn't stuck on transitions as older models. The dual multi-surface rubber brushes can adapt to different floorings and prevent getting caught in pet hair.

The i3+ EVO's obstacle avoidance isn't as strong as some of the other robots we tested, and it repeatedably hit objects in our tests like handbags, shoes and pet toys prior to continuing its journey. It also had difficulty dealing with coarse sea salt, which it was able to blow around instead of picking up.

The i3+ EVO comes with a host of features that make it well worth the extra money over other Roomba models. It has the ability to self-empty the bin and more advanced control via an app. You can schedule cleanings, create custom routines, and even create no-go zones for areas you do not want the robot to be allowed to enter. Its smart scheduling will even suggest additional cleaning during allergy season and based on the routine you follow. The system for navigation is not reliable and often vacuums in irregular patterns such as diagonals or zigzags instead of parallel to walls.

4. Shark AI Self-Empty XL

However, the Roborock S4 Max is better constructed, takes less time to recharge than the Shark, and provides more scheduling and automation features as well as support for zones that are not allowed to be used. Shark is still a great option if you're looking for something cheaper or prefer to control and monitor your system via your phone rather than a remote.

5. Bissell SpinWave Dry and Wet

This robot does both vacuuming and mopping. The two-tank system used by this robot allows it to mop or vacuum with the press of the button. It was able to easily switch between surfaces during our tests and excelled at getting pet hair off of both hardwood floors and carpets. It also comes with an edge-sweeping brush that can remove cat hair from baseboards and walls, as well as scheduling capabilities to fit your schedule.

This robot is a good option if you're looking for a robot that is inexpensive and has a few extra features. It was able to negotiate obstacles with ease during our tests and can be controlled by an app or voice. It has a large dustbin to collect messes before they're filled. The only downside is that it can take up to 166 minutes to complete its work however that's still much better than the majority of robots we've evaluated.

It also had a difficult time collecting table salt from a clean floor, with a lot of grains sliding across the floor and beyond its reach.

Cliff Detect and a edge-sweeping tool ensure that it gets into areas that are difficult to reach, and Dirt Detect sensors alert the robot to spots that are heavily soiled. It comes with a dust bin that automatically emptys, and it has a battery life of around 60 minutes. The pricier iRobot j7 is more advanced and better on all surfaces. It also feels better constructed, has a larger dustbin, charges faster, and can navigate obstacles such as electrical cords more easily.
